Stress-Free Movers In Seattle
Stress is something we all have to deal with and it can be a killer. In particular, finance-related stress is holding the smoking gun (figuratively of course). Also, according to a Utah State University study, the frequency of financial disagreements between married couples is directly linked to an increased divorce rate.
Stress can also have an impact in the workplace. When stress rises, productivity drops, and the risk of losing your job goes up with the stress. Which, of course, invites more stress. In extreme cases of high stress, people have turned to overeating, smoking, drinking, or drug abuse.
According to another study by Thomas H. Holmes and Richard H. Rahe, from the University of Washington, the number one cause of stress is spending more than you earn. If overspending is the foremost cause of stress, to decrease it, we need to reel our spending in and get it under control. But how do we do that?
Here are three great ways to get your spending under (your) control:
· Make a budget.
· Keep track of your spending.
· Stick to the budget.
If you have a smartphone, there are a lot of great apps out there to help you keep track of your money and where it goes. I use GoodBudget on my iPhone and it has been a great tool. If you don’t have access to a smartphone or would prefer another option, you can also make a paper spreadsheet and write down your expenses.
Initially, having to stick to a budget may increase your stress and it may be a difficult transition. However, once you adjust, you will feel an incredible sense of freedom as you realize you are in control of your finances, not random chance.
Remember, if that new HD TV you just bought is in the budget, you don’t have to feel stressed at all. In fact, you can be excited for a well-earned reward.
