Keeping Your Stuff Dry On A Rainy Day
With such a beautiful, hot summer, we could have a warmer, wetter fall and winter. You could be faced with a “slippery slope” if it’s raining when it’s time to move. Here are a few great tips to keep your stuff dry:
Clear out your driveway. The closer the moving truck is to your front door or garage, the better. The shorter the distance, the smaller the opening for pesky raindrops to cascade upon your precious – and previously dry – belongings.
Fill the garage first. If you have a garage, it can save you lots of very wet tears. If you move your furniture and other cloth items to your garage before the movers arrive, they can usually get the truck incredibly close to your garage door (maybe even inside, if you have a “monster-truck” garage).
Order up some gravel. If you have mud puddles, troughs, or holes, fill them with gravel to help protect your expensive investments. It’s not that expensive and it might save the lives of your movers or at least the lives of your sofa, your basketball hoop, and your 210 inch 1080p HDTV.
So, if your moving day is cloudy, remember to watch for falling drops (rain as well as your heavy furniture). Follow these fantastic tips and you can look forward to your winter move and still enjoy the rest of this gorgeous summer!
