The City of Puyallup has approximately 38,670 residents, and is located in Pierce County, Washington. Puyallup is centered around a fertile valley, and allows for the perfect conditions for growing daffodils, which are then distributed globally from this area. The Puyallup River, which flows through the hills, stretches from its glacial beginning on Mt. Rainier, to its end in the Puget Sound.
Once a year, the Puyallup Fair (recently re-titled the Washington Fair) draws both locals and tourists. It’s the largest fair in Washington and one of the top ten largest in the country. Traditionally, the fair runs for 17 days in September and four days in April as part of the “Spring Fair.” This is a prominent opportunity for local bars and restaurants to offer their delicious hometown cuisine to the flocks of fair-goers. Also, the Daffodil Festival Parade is held annually, noted by a succession of daffodil-adorned parade floats.
Other places of interest in Puyallup include the Arts Downtown Outdoor Gallery, a volunteer driven display of rotational public artwork, and the farmers market in Pioneer Park. The market runs from late May to early October, and offers residents the chance to buy or sell home-grown produce, baked goods, and crafts.
After you stroll through the farmers market downtown, take some time to address your moving and storage needs. Apex Moving & Storage is an interstate agent for Stevens Worldwide Van Lines, and together our partnership brings with it unmatched resources and experience on any out-of-state move.
